Thank you for visiting my corner of the online world (designed by Liz Bemis at Bemis Promotions) and being part of my romance writing journey and quest for publication.
Taking my first steps into the blogsphere feels a lot like how I remember feeling on my first day of school. Excited and scared, skipping towards a future full of new friends, things to learn and more adventures than I could have imagined.
My fictional characters search for home, family and community, along with their happy ending. And, although my stories are set in small-town Canada, my heroes and heroines grapple with the same issues as women and men everywhere.
Through this blog, I want to share thoughts on writing and reading, as well as snippets from my life as a writer, wife, mom and accidental emigrant.
Along the way, I also want to talk to you. Jump in with a comment or just to say hi. Email me from my contact page. I’d love to hear from you.
So what about that first day of school?
I made a friend who’s still part of my life.
I found the classroom book corner. Who knew there were so many books in the world, just waiting for me to learn to read?
And I met a wise teacher who encouraged a love of learning I’ve carried with me, always.
Maybe Robert Fulghum was right. Maybe I did learn most of what I needed to know in kindergarten.
What about you?
